Crime Log Meeting

Just a reminder that the Crime Log crew will be meeting tonight, January 29th, at 8pm in the NUTV office (330 CSC). I want to discuss the shot sheet, actors, shooting schedules, and see who wants to actually be a part of the filming or editing crew. So, if you are interested, please try and make the meeting tonight. If you are unable to make it, but still want to help out, just email me at lilyrosenbloom@gmail.com. Hope to see you all there!

NUTV Office, 330 CSC

Also weekly editing tutorials are held Thursdays during Activities Period in the NUTV office.

Dating Show Meeting Wednesday

Anyone interested in helping out with Date my Roommate should come to a planning meeting Wednesday (Jan. 23) at 11:45 a.m. in the NUTV office (330 CSC). We will be discussing our interview footage and what’s the next step. We’d like to film this first episode as soon as possible so we can have it air for Valentine’s Day.  We’ll be looking at production schedules and figuring out a lot of logistics, so this is a can’t miss meeting!  (But if you have to miss it, I’ll be posting an update on what we discussed here, so check back in.)

Date My Roommate Casting Call

NUTV will be kicking off a brand new dating show, “Date My Roommate,” tomorrow with our first open casting call at the winter activities fair (in the Curry Student Center from 2:50 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., look for the camera setup).

The point of the show is to help find your love-lorn roommate or friend find their perfect match. A cross between MTV’s “Parental Control” and “Elimidate,” a group of roommates/friends will be able to choose two dates from a select group of applicants. The two dates will together take out the contestant and at the end of the date the guy or girl will pick a winner.  NUTV will be filming the entire process and creating what we hope to be a reoccurring show for watchnutv.com.

We would like the first show to be completed by the beginning of February. Besides tomorrow’s opening casting, we will also be going around campus to interview students and find as many participants as possible. We are looking for guys and girls who are willing to either be fought over or to compete for someone’s affection. We will also need to find groups of friends or roommates who have someone they think needs to be set up.

Keep checking this blog for further updates including, shooting schedules and how you can film, edit and help out with production. All specific questions or people interested in participating in the show can e-mail us at datemyroommateshow@gmail.com

General Meeting Summary 1-7-08

We had a great turnout for our first general meeting of the year last night, filled with lots of new faces eager to start producing content. Here’s a quick summary of what was covered:

  • General Meetings will be held the first and third Monday of each month at 8PM in 342CSC. There’s some holidays coming up so we’ll work around them and let you guys know
  • Editing and camera tutorials will be held by two executive board members during the Thursday activities period (3-4:30PM) each week, in the NUTV Office (330CSC). Location may change in the future.
  • Members are encouraged to change email settings to receive Staff messages if they wish to be actively involved. We use this subset mailing list for direct contact regarding filming and editing things, and you are not on it by default. To add yourself you must click the edit button at the bottom of an NUTV email, and check the box for Staff.
  • A new dating show is being discussed, similar to Parental Control on MTV. Casting calls will take place during the Winter Activities fair on Jan 17th from 3-4:30PM.
  • Discussed opening up a section of the website for student created content, i.e. short films. If the demand is great enough, we can publish these to our site.
